The ability to share patient information electronically with hospitals has become more crucial than ever before. In response to this growing need, Emergency Reporting (ER) has developed an enhanced feature that allows patient care reports (PCRs) to be electronically faxed directly to the receiving facility.
When using paper forms, many EMS agencies require their personnel to fill out and submit their PCRs prior to leaving their patient at the hospital. With our new ePCR Faxing feature, the report can be filled out and electronically faxed to the hospital at a later time by simply selecting Fax PCR on the summary page. This allows EMS personnel to immediately return to duty after the patient transfer is complete, minimizing their time spent “out of service.” For agencies with longer transport times, this feature will enable ePCRs to be sent prior to arrival to alert the hospital of an incoming patient and allow them to prepare necessary resources to better care for the patient upon arrival.
This feature will be greatly beneficial to any EMS transport agency and will be available as an upgrade for all ALS and BLS NEMSIS 3 customers. There is a low-priced annual fee for this feature based on call volume. To add this feature to your account, or learn more about pricing for your agency, please contact your local sales representative.
Once this feature is added, there are some settings that will need to be configured by an administrator in your account. To learn more, please review this article in our knowledge base or contact our support team.
