We are proud to announce that Emergency Reporting has acquired Spotted Dog Technologies, a leading provider of notification and response software for first responders. Spotted Dog Technologies’ cloud-based notification and response software, Rover, provides critical two-way communication between dispatchers and first responders that decreases response times and integrates with Emergency Reporting RMS.
This highly regarded cloud-based communications platform is used by over 25,000 first responders every day, in the United States, Australia and Canada. The previous owner of Spotted Dog Technologies, Geoffery Giordano has joined the Emergency Reporting team and will continue to work on Rover software. The addition of Spotted Dog Technologies will provide even more value to customers of both ER and Spotted Dog Technologies.
Rover, now owned by Emergency Reporting, takes responder management to the next level.
Get there faster when seconds matter, with Rover. When an incident occurs, Rover instantly relays the call out to your responders’ mobile devices, shaving seconds off their reply. With one touch on the Rover app, responders send their availability while Rover automatically retrieves their credentials, location and travel time. Once responders have confirmed their acceptance, Rover provides everyone who has secure access to the Rover portal (via station dashboard, laptop, in-vehicle tablets or cell phone) with the precise location of each responder and a countdown to their arrival.
Gain Total Situational Awareness
The Rover map includes pinpoint access to the incident’s location, apparatus, hazards, and all available hydrants inside and outside the perimeter.

What do we mean when we say that Rover is “highly configurable”?
We will work with you to customize Rover to the meet the needs of your department, with the terminology your team is most familiar with. We have a robust selection of map objects that can be added to the system, including building labels, hydrants, Knox Box location, FDC connection, utility shut offs, fill sites, and more. We can link to everything you need such as weather, SOGs, documents, and websites, directly in the app.
Rover delivers critical data and life-saving insight to improve situational awareness. The result: more informed decision making that gets the right resources to the scene as quickly and safely as possible.
Rover delivers superior features and functions over any competing solution today.
Navigation Integration. Get visual and audio turn-by-turn navigation from the navigation app you are most familiar with (Google Maps, Waze, and more).
Geo-Fencing. “Fence-in” a large address area and create custom alerts specific to that area.
Quick Messaging. Send custom messages with one click, i.e. “Cancel your response”, “All hands”, “Working fire”.
Outage Maps. Rover connects with electric utility for outage maps where available.
Self-Dispatch. Dispatch your own station in the event of a dispatch system failure as a backup or to use for more realistic drills.
Super-charge your Rover app with API Integrations.
Never enter the same data twice with Rover API integrations. Rover has the capability to connect with other software that your department is already using, such as a records management and reporting solution. Automatically transfer hydrant locations, occupancy data, and more between Rover and other software solutions.
Rover is now available for your agency to take advantage of as an add-on product to our cloud-based fire records management solution, Emergency Reporting RMS. If you are not a current customer, Rover is also available as a standalone product. Whether you’re a current Emergency Reporting customer or not, you can expect continued product improvements and exceptional customer support. Though current ER customers will experience additional integration benefits, such as shared information between their RMS and Rover, non-ER customers will continue to see enhancements to Rover.
