Emergency Reporting’s Senior Director of Business Development Dave Adams and Business Development Analyst Tom Louis recently visited Microsoft’s Innovation and Policy Center in Washington, D.C. While in the heart of our nation’s capital, the ER team learned about Microsoft’s Digital Transformation Showcase. This impressive, immersive, and interactive setting provides visitors an opportunity to see how the latest Microsoft technology is solving problems across a wide spectrum of disciplines including healthcare, agriculture, the workplace, smart infrastructure, and national security.
We are excited to share the news that Emergency Reporting will be the latest addition to this technological tour-de-force. As Microsoft personnel introduce people from widely diverse professions to this showcase, they will demonstrate Emergency Reporting as the leading example of a Microsoft Azure Government-hosted SaaS (Software as a Service) for public safety organizations seeking to store their critical data within Microsoft’s secure cloud environment. Emergency Reporting is honored to be the enterprise records management solution for both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps Fire and Emergency Services. The Department of Defense’s rigid security standards are some of the key reasons ER chose Microsoft Azure Government as the environment for our Ultra Secure solution.
Some of the other fascinating technologies on display include the concept of digital twins and remote management of the Internet of Things (IoT). For example, they illustrated how monitoring of elevator systems in a building across the continent can save time and money while enhancing overall safety. Using sophisticated sensors connected to monitoring software running in Microsoft Azure, building managers can stay well ahead of elevator maintenance and costly repairs. All of this is accomplished in real-time thanks to cloud-based technologies, something that has been the core of ER since the company’s founding in 2003.
“Emergency Reporting is pleased that Microsoft is promoting us as a solution that solves problems, increases productivity, and helps federal agencies operate more efficiently,” stated Dave Adams. “Being part of this showcase affirms our leadership as a fire and emergency services RMS.”
